How can a major construction project in São Paulo be carried out while minimizing the impact on traffic?
The Bernardo Goldfarb Cycle Bridge, a new infrastructure poised to transform urban mobility, features the participation of ROHR and its Construction Engineering and Access solutions. Approximately 700 meters long, this impressive structure will connect the Pinheiros and Butantã neighborhoods, facilitating the commute of thousands of people to work, sports, and leisure. In addition to being a landmark for the city, the cycle bridge stands out for its innovative engineering and integration with the region's main transportation systems. Discover how this project is being carried out, ensuring mobility even during construction.
The challenge: Ensuring fluidity and safety during execution.
The project, in partnership with Concrejato Engenharia, presented a complex challenge. The pedestrian and bicycle bridge is a mixed structure, composed of concrete and metal elements, that needs to be built over an area of intense traffic, including the Marginal highways and the Pinheiros River. During the construction of the concrete deck, the flow of vehicles could not be interrupted, which required precise solutions to guarantee the safety and continuity of the work.

In areas above the streets, where traffic remained normal, the installation of metal profiles was essential to maintain vehicle passage clearances. In sections supported directly on the ground, ETEM towers were used for formwork. Furthermore, the metal structure was strategically placed along the riverbanks and over the river, ensuring efficient execution and meeting mobility and safety requirements.
ROHR's differentiated solution
What won Concrejato's trust for this project was the customized solution proposed by ROHR, a specialist in shoring systems and metal structures. The flexibility in using different materials, such as ETEM towers, metal profiles of various sizes, and trusses ( see the R300 ), adapting to the specific needs of each section of the construction, was a decisive factor.

The ETEM towers, with their robustness and stability, supported the formwork in the ground areas, while the metal profiles ensured the safe passage of vehicles in high-traffic areas. For the span over the Pinheiros River, a metal structure specially manufactured for the project was used.
Mobility infrastructure: More than a project, a solution for São Paulo.
The Bernardo Goldfarb Cycle Bridge is much more than a construction; it represents a significant advancement in urban mobility infrastructure. With a two-way cycle path, access ramps, and integrated stairs, the project offers a safe and sustainable alternative for cyclists in the city. Furthermore, its strategic location allows direct connections to the existing cycle path network, Metro Line 4, CPTM Line 9, the Pinheiros Terminal, and even the University of São Paulo (USP).

The pedestrian and bicycle bridge will positively impact workers, students, athletes, and residents of the region, establishing itself as an efficient solution for local traffic without interfering with the flow of vehicles during its construction.
Excellence in delivery and service.
Throughout the entire execution process, ROHR maintained its commitment to meeting deadlines and complying with the project requirements. The partnership with Concrejato, a company with 45 years of experience in infrastructure, restoration, and modernization of buildings, was marked by efficiency and innovation.
The Bernardo Goldfarb Cycle Bridge is a clear example of ROHR's ability to provide solutions for highly complex projects, always prioritizing safety, functionality, and sustainability.
