Each project presents needs and challenges that must be studied, understood, and, most certainly, solved. For this to happen in the best possible way for the client, it is essential that each project be treated uniquely, with complete attention and dedicated time. To illustrate this and show how we operate in these situations, we share some details of the elevator project located at the Pampa Sul Thermoelectric Power Plant in Candiota/RS, a challenge accepted and successfully resolved by ROHR.
The significant challenges and the solutions found.
ROHR, with the help of partner companies, stepped in, combining all its engineering knowledge applied by qualified professionals to develop an exclusive project, as something uniquely designed for the client was necessary. The 15/30 double-cab elevator, in operation at the Pampa Sul Thermal Power Plant (UTE), has a total height of approximately 206 meters, making it the tallest ROHR has ever worked on.
To ensure everything was completed effectively, reinforced tower sections were adopted. The equipment was used for concreting in a slipform system and, subsequently, for the mechanical assembly of the chimney. Another important aspect was the implementation of improvements to meet regulatory requirements without significant impacts on operation.
Furthermore, the anchoring system of the structure took into account the particularities of the project, adopting a system for fixing the ties in an insert-type support to reduce the spacing of the bracing and distribute the impressed load for fixing by supporting the structure with the concrete still curing, due to the concreting speed which was outside the general standards.
Other challenges encountered on site included: the leaning tower following the chimney profile (1,5 degrees) and the strong incidence of winds (a natural characteristic that led ROHR to adopt specific solutions that contributed to the success of the project).

The operating system fully guarantees minimal downtime due to defects, with complete safety, without impacting the time and method of equipment assembly, the latter being the main differentiating factor of the exclusive solution delivered by ROHR, compared to other systems available on the market.
