Successive Balance Sheet
An ideal solution for the construction of large-span structures, such as cable-stayed and unstayed bridges and viaducts, where the incremental launching method is employed. This technology is used in bridges over rivers and the sea, or when conventional formwork supported directly on the ground is not feasible.
The system consists of trusses that work in cantilever, supporting the successive construction of the voussoirs, whether cast in place or precast. The voussoirs are segments of the deck, determined in the structural design.
After the concrete pouring or lifting of the precast segment, the Successive Cantilever System is moved forward with the entire set of shoring and formwork for the segment, to allow for the concrete pouring or lifting of the next segment of the bridge or viaduct.
